Job Description
Rezult Group continues to make great strides toward enhancing the technology services community nationwide. We are consistently looking for qualified professionals to join us in achieving success. Currently, we are searching for an RPG Developer to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.
This position is a Full-Time, Direct Hire position, not offering sponsorship or C2C, and sits onsite in southeastern Alabama.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a core business application, focusing on RPG Free development, and working with iSeries and DB2 databases.
- Transition legacy SOAP XML APIs to modern RESTful JSON APIs to enhance system integration and performance.
- Take on new development tasks, such as upgrading software, increasing data field sizes, and improving user interfaces, to address the aging structure of the application.
- Collaborate with internal teams and business stakeholders to prioritize and execute software enhancements, ensuring alignment with operational and customer requirements.
- Develop custom reports and automation scripts for customers using SQL, integrating with tools like GoAnywhere for FTP-based reporting.
- Occasionally handle custom development requests and work on system optimization projects.
- Be available for occasional after-hours or weekend work (10-15%) to meet project deadlines.
- 1-5 years of experience in RPG development, with a preference for candidates familiar with iSeries or DB2; experience with PHP, C#/.NET, or Java is also acceptable.
- Proficiency in API development, specifically migrating from SOAP XML to RESTful JSON APIs.
- Experience working in a team environment with internal customers to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Bonus: Experience with iSeries or RPG Free development is highly preferred.
