Currently we are searching for an Director of Facility Operations to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.




This position is a Permanent position that sits onsite, in Birmingham, AL and will require travel up to 30% of the time.




Overview 

The Director of Infrastructure Operations is responsible for leading strategic capital projects, overseeing facility operations, and supporting infrastructure initiatives across multiple locations. This role manages budgeting, financial reporting, and the deployment of facility management systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, project management capabilities, and financial expertise to drive continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.




Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of large-scale capital projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and present financial reports related to operational and capital expenditures.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of operating and capital budgets.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for regional operations teams in areas such as fleet, safety, security, and facilities.
  • Coordinate project planning and preventative maintenance efforts across departments.
  • Manage RFPs and contract documentation in collaboration with legal and procurement teams.
  • Track and report all expenditures related to facilities and capital projects to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Implement and manage facility systems to support maintenance and operational workflows.
  • Maintain project schedules that optimize resource use and minimize overtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Support employee development through training and performance management.

Qualifications

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate facilities or property management, including oversight of internal and external maintenance teams and vendors.
  • Proven track record managing capital projects with budgets exceeding $1 million, from planning through execution.
  • Strong background in vendor management, including RFP processes, contract negotiation, and coordination across multiple vendors and regions.
  • Hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maintenance Connection or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage Emergency Response Plans, including protocols for power outages, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems.
  • Solid project management skills, including scoping, planning, design documentation, execution, and performance evaluation based on metrics and stakeholder feedback.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, OneDrive)

Licenses:
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Primarily indoor, climate-controlled settings

  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and kneeling
  • Must be available for on-call support as needed to address urgent facility issues or emergencies.
