Enterprise Project Consultant

Currently we are searching for an Enterprise Project Consultant to fulfill an immediate contract vacancy.
This position is a 6-month contract (with strong potential for extension) that sits hybrid onsite in Birmingham, AL.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple enterprise-level, cross-divisional projects simultaneously — typically 3–5 at a time — spanning initiation through closeout
- Drive full project lifecycle ownership including scope definition, budget management, resource coordination, risk/issue tracking, and executive stakeholder communication
- Build project plans from the ground up on brand-new initiatives; not inheriting pre-defined scope — must be comfortable leading a project from a blank page
- Facilitate and lead large hybrid meetings and working sessions with core project teams that can range from 50–80 participants, including senior leadership
- Partner with internal business customers and external vendors, moving fluidly between engagements and adapting quickly as priorities shift
- Serve as a visible project leader across departments, driving accountability and keeping cross-functional teams aligned with minimal supervision
Position Requirements:
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-year (2–3 year) enterprise projects from inception — candidates with only short-cycle, repeatable, or pre-scoped project experience will not be considered
- Strong command of formal PMI project management methodology — must know how to run a project by the book across all phases
- Hands-on experience with scope documentation, budget oversight, resource planning, scheduling, and risk/issue management on complex, cross-divisional initiatives
- Proficiency with standard PM tools including MS Office, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint or comparable platforms
- Exceptional communication skills — written and verbal — with demonstrated comfort presenting to and influencing executive-level audiences
- Bachelor's degree required (any discipline); PMP certification preferred but not required
- Background bridging IT and business is a plus
