Currently, we are searching for an Enterprise Linux RedHat Administrator to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.
This position is a Contract to Hire position, not offering sponsorship, or C2C, and is a remote position based in Birmingham, AL (with some in-office presence ideally once a week).
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across a large-scale environment, including system updates, patching, user management, and security configurations.
- Oversee Red Hat OpenShift clusters, assisting with deployment, configuration, and management of containerized applications.
- Work within a virtualized infrastructure environment, focusing on VMs to maintain server health, uptime, and security.
- Leverage automation tools such as Ansible to streamline system management, deployments, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Application Development) to ensure smooth CI/CD pipeline integrations and application deployments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, containerized environments, and network configurations.
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable workflows.
- 3-5 years of experience in administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, including patch management, user configuration, and system updates.
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift administration and Kubernetes in a production environment.
- Proficiency in automation using tools like Ansible and a deep understanding of containerized applications and orchestration.
- Previous experience with Red Hat Satellite for patch management and configuration management within large Linux environments.
- A solid understanding of server infrastructure, preferably in virtualized environments, with experience in VMware and HP hardware.
- Ability to work independently, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and system maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
