Rezult Group continues to make great strides toward enhancing the technology services community nationwide. We are consistently looking for qualified professionals to join us in achieving success. Currently, we are searching for a Database Engineer to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.
This position is a Contract position through end of December 2025, not offering sponsorship, that sits remote.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the migration of a database platform from Azure PostgreSQL to Azure Cosmos DB for Postgres with Timescale.
- Oversee the design, documentation, and implementation of platform requirements, schemas, and security architecture for the new distributed system.
- Migrate large datasets (up to 6TB of historical time series data) with a focus on performance review and enhancements.
- Support ETL integrations and parallel operations during the migration process to ensure seamless transition without disrupting business applications.
- Improve existing processes and port them to the new system to enhance overall efficiency and scalability.
- Provide recommendations and proof-of-concept for machine learning ecosystem integration.
- Ensure that all client services remain operational throughout the migration process, with minimal downtime.
- 3-9 years of experience in database engineering, specifically with migrations to distributed database systems.
- Expertise in database performance tuning, including index design, query optimization, and partitioning in clustered environments (experience with Hadoop-like platforms a plus).
- Strong experience distributed data models, ideally with Postgres.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale IoT data streams and the ability to work with time-series data at scale.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, specifically Azure, and experience in managing Azure Managed Databases.
- Proficiency in Advanced TSQL and Python, as well as tools like Azure Data Factory for ETL processes.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate technical concepts and work independently with minimal supervision.
